This is circa '04-'05 I believe. I guess you could say this a mix of sorts but more than that it was more of a statement of intent. Signaling the type of horror and damage I wanted to inflict upon hip hop. Or that has been there all along maybe. It is lazy in places with very little done to the songs in the mix except for their juxtaposition to what they accompany. A lot of the "effect" of this is down to the EQing and Mixing. Pushing the dB all the way into the clipping zone and distorting, burying and highlighting sounds in the mix away from their original intent. This is a bit of nostalgia for me. I can hear the giddy mischief i felt behind the bullying of canonical hip hop for my own entertainment. If u want to get legal/technical these are studies of the originals repurposed to be viewed from our cursed post whateverthefuck landless scape
