This album was completed during The Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown. It may or may not resonate with the circumstances of the pandemic. The initial thought behind it was to make my poetry audible. For the words not to get swallowed up by the sound. I thought about the experience of listening to Joe Frank on WFMU while being a delivery driver in the 90s. And how his voice occupied so much space. Most, if not all, the beat accompaniment was culled from Derivitive sessions that likely took place, with or without me present at the tail end of 2018. As usual I repurpose the sounds to fit the narrative and as usual the likely participants in making those sounds is A. Camba and L. Cancio except track 1 which is made by me (G. castro). The second half features these efforts to interesting ends without much vocal intervention by yours truly. This is Deriviitve's 10th album since forming in 1999.
